A Rabbit's Vision

watercolor by James Gallagher

True perspective.
How quick, if you lift your head,
you reach a limitless unknown.
yet it may only appear
as a small detail in some art.

Rabbit walking, hopping
are aspects of a rabbit.
If a rabbit is comfortably foraging,
it will  look more like animals
that do not jump.

Chalk drawing on sidewalk by James Gallagher

The rabbits design was inspired by a mysterious ancient symbol of three hares found in Dunhuang cave paintings

More features at the side of the road

watercolor by James Gallagher

Many times a detail is frozen in time but pass by them quickly, realizing after days that
what is witnessed can not be recalled.

Left clothes, shoes, and blanket

watercolor by James Gallagher
We saw a heavy winter coat high up in a tree along the Broken Arrow Expressway. There are many scenes that let one wonder whether someone will return to collect a pair of pants, blanket, or a coat.

A Baron in the Tree

"There was once a time long ago when “a monkey could take off from Rome, skip from tree to tree till it reached Spain, without ever touching earth.” --- The Baron in the Trees, a novel by Italo Calvino
